Dains LLP 6-a-side Football Tournament

Keelys FC compete in the Dains LLP annual football tournamentOn Friday 16th May Keelys LLP competed in the annual Dains LLP 6-a-side football tournament held at the home of Walsall Football Club, Bescot Stadium. The team (pictured right) got off to a great start winning their first game against ‘Walsall’ 2-0 with goals from Tom Parkes and Stephen Hunt. The second game was a close fought battle which sadly ended in a 1-0 defeat to ‘Ricoh Arena’, the eventual winners of the tournament. Keelys third game was against ‘Berck’ and despite fighting hard in their third consecutive game without a break, the game ended in a 3-0 defeat. After a short break Keelys’ final game was against the event organisers and sponsors, Dains LLP. Keelys took the lead just before half time with a goal from James Chisholm, which was sadly quickly cancelled out by a goal from Dains. The second half didn’t start much better as Dains quickly scored a second goal, resulting in a 2-1 win for the hosts.

The team played extremely well and a huge effort was put in by all the players, none more so than last minute stand-in goalkeeper, and Keelys’ player of the tournament, John Hunt. Congratulations to all the players on a well played tournament.
