Thank you for all the work you did on my divorce; for actually listening and looking into my monies a lot more carefully than the other Solicitors did. Not only am I better off financially, but emotionally I hold no hard feelings towards my ex-husband. I would highly recommend you to anyone.

Trevor, it’s nice to know that there are solicitors out there who look after their clients in a caring manner, whilst still maintaining the utmost professionalism and working for the best resolution. Friends have not been so fortunate in their choice of solicitor.

Katherine is a very capable and understanding professional. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any person wishing to use her services.

The Employer Strikes Back

At an event organised by Birmingham City University and the CIPD, Paul Roberts, Head of our Employment Department, used a Star Wars theme to explain why employment law is not as bad as most lawyers make out. Paul outlined the tools that employers can use to tackle issues without falling foul of employment tribunals. The seminar covered:

  • Using contracts and policies to your advantage
  • Changing terms and conditions to suit you
  • Using the qualifying period for unfair dismissal
  • Redundancies and other cost saving measures
  • Why employment tribunals have become less attractive for employees
  • Using restrictive covenants to protect your business

The event was well attended and delegates took the opportunity to get their questions answered.  One commented: “I really enjoyed the presentation and your delivery was excellent.”
