CIPD Employment Law Event

Paul Roberts, head of our employment department, will be speaking at the next Black Country CIPD Employment Law Event on Wednesday 28 September, at Wolverhampton Science Park, from 9-1.30.

Paul will be speaking on Urban Myths in Employment Law and Wie-men Ho of Eversheds will provide an employment law update including the impact of Brexit.  There will also be a choice of workshops on:

  • Working with trade unions
  • Employer Confidential: Keeping information safe
  • Complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2015
  • Sickness absence & the Fit for Work scheme
  • Tactics for defending employment tribunal claims

Free Seminar – Using the Force in Human Resources

In conjunction with Gravitas HR, we are presenting a Star Wars themed HR event. Karen Teago of Gravitas will be explaining what HR can do for your bottom line. Paul Roberts, head of our employment law department, will then turn to the dark side and explain how the employer can strike back, ie. why employment law is not actually as bad as you may have thought. His session will include:

  • Using employment documentation to your advantage
  • Changing terms and conditions
  • Dismissing problem staff
  • Enforcing restrictive covenants

This event is aimed at business owners or managers, rather than HR professionals.

Free CIPD Employment Law Events

Keelys are partnering with the CIPD to run four employment law events in March 2016. At each event, Paul Roberts, head of our employment law department, will provide an employment law update. At the events in Lichfield there will be an opportunity for delegates to discuss issues of concern with HR colleagues from other organisations and at the event in Wolverhampton there will be a choice of workshops.

Business Growth Workshop – Friday 19 June 2015

Ravinder Sandhu (Employment Partner) has organised a special morning workshop in conjunction with Jas Darar from REACH Business Coaching.  The theme is an insight into strategies for increasing profits and reducing the hours you work.  There will also be a short presentation on performance management by Ravinder.
