The SRA deal with conduct breaches and more serious instances involving professional misconduct, such as impropriety, criminal behaviour or dishonesty on the part of a solicitor (for example with regard to accounting for or safeguarding client funds). You are always free to contact the SRA at any time, where you feel there may have been such breaches. There are no time limits for doing so. However, the SRA do not generally deal with complaints about poor service which can be dealt with by the Legal Ombudsman, and may refer you to the Legal Ombudsman instead in such cases.
