Jayne, who works with us as a legal secretary, is hoping to raise £5,000 to help research into the condition that affects her daughter Faith’s life.
Jayne, is lacing up her running shoes for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation” (JDRF), which is a charity researching to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes, which 13-year-old Faith was diagnosed with when she was just a toddler.
Now a decade on Jayne has marked the anniversary in a special way, by vowing to complete her own unique challenge, which she has called 10 for 10.
Jayne has devised a plan to ensure she is in top shape, and is running four times a week, come rain or shine, clocking up almost 40 miles, whilst also sticking to a strict gym regime.
Having a team of keen runners we at Keelys are only too pleased to spur Jane on.
Type 1 diabetes is currently incurable, and Jayne feels not enough is known about effects on sufferers and their families.
She will be tackling many of the UK’s best-known marathons, with Portsmouth in December next on her horizon. She’ll start 2018 off with the Gloucester Marathon, and there will be the London Marathon in April. Her challenge will finish close to home with the Birmingham Marathon in late 2018.
