Lisa has over 15 years experience in residential conveyancing and deals with all aspects of residential property work including sales, purchases, leasehold/freehold, right to buy and property transfers.

Lisa was a Paralegal for four years before qualifying in 2007. Lisa joined Keelys in January 2014 bringing with her a broad range of experience.

In her spare time Lisa practices yoga and enjoys travelling.

Partner – Solicitor – Head of Real Estate Department Real Estate

James is the head of the Real Estate Department and has 20 years experience of commercial property work. He specialises in property development and has been involved in a number of very large and complex industrial and retail development sites as well as substantial residential development land sites. He also undertakes more general commercial property work including pension related transactions, investment transactions and work that is landlord and tenant related.

Outside of works James enjoys gardening, sailing, caravanning, DIY and is learning to play the guitar. I am a cub scout leader. His four children with wife Iona keep him very busy.

Joanne Davies is a solicitor with over 20 years’ experience in litigation matters. Having trained and qualified in 1994 at Wragge & Co, she also spent several years at Martineau Johnson, as well as having experience of working as in-house Counsel in the finance leasing industry. Joanne headed up the dispute resolution and litigation team at her previous firm before joining Keelys LLP in January 2018. Joanne has extensive experience of all nature of commercial and contractual disputes, having handled minority shareholders’ disputes, professional negligence claims and overdrawn directors loan account claims. In addition she also handles landlord and tennant cases (both commercial and residential) and trust and contested probate claims. Joanne prides herself on taking a hands on approach to cases and will always take in to consideration the commercial issues that arise in any dispute.

Joanne studied Law with French at the University of Birmingham, before completing her training contract. Joanne speaks fluent French and also studied Russian at A Level. When not in the office, Joanne enjoys walking the family dog, reading, history and travel (and if they can all be combined then so much the better).

Lorraine Dewar
Legal Assistant Corporate and Commercial

Lorraine joined Keelys after graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2018 with a first class Degree in Law. She also has a History Degree from Newcastle University. She has over nine years experience working in solicitor’s offices, including working abroad for a firm in Orange County, California.

Lorraine is a legal assistant in the corporate and commercial department and will be assisting the corporate team on a range of matters including company and business sales, and commercial and shareholder agreements.

In her free time, Lorraine enjoys travelling, walking in the countryside with her dog, playing guitar and martial arts

Catherine has over 25 years experience as a Private Client Lawyer and joined Keelys in November 2017 from Shoosmiths in Birmingham. Catherine is a qualified adviser for elderly and vulnerable clients and a member of STEP. Her specialties include Wills, Tax Planning, the Administration of the Estates of High Net Worth individuals, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and the creation and administration of trusts. She has also advised on issues relating to domicile and contentious probates. Catherine has also presented at a number of seminars for both advisors and clients.

Catherine enjoyes reading, especially history and crime fiction, the cinema, yoga, her garden and being a grandma.

Loretta has over 25 years experience in residential conveyancing to include both freehold and leasehold properties, remortgages, transfers of equity, right to buys and equity releases both locally and nationally.

Before joining Keelys over 5 years ago Loretta ran a dedicated Conveyancing team in Lichfield.

Loretta is looking forward to continuing her professional and personal service to her existing contacts whilst continuing to grow her client base under the umbrella of Keelys.

When not at work Loretta enjoys walks with her dog and sunny holidays.

Daniel Keane
Managing Partner – Solicitor Corporate and Commercial

Daniel has been advising buyers and sellers of companies and businesses and regularly acts for management buy-out/buy-in teams for over 25 years. He also has signifcant expertise in complex commercial contracts in a wide range of sectors, including IT, distribution and engineering. He is known for his pragmatic and constructive approach to contract negotiations.

Daniel is a longstanding member of Keelys having joined in 1988 after qualifying as a solicitor the previous year. He has been Managing Partner for many years and during that time has had great satisfaction from playing a significant role in the firms success.

Daniel is also an accomplished guitarist and a big Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter.

Sharon Lawrence
Senior Partner – Solicitor – Head of Finance and Operations Real Estate

Sharon qualifed with the firm in 1989 and has specialised in commercial property matters. Sharon’s particular expertise was investment portfolio work including acquisitions and disposals as well as dealing with the ongoing management issues.

Now Sharon has a full time management role as Finance Partner and dealing with the compliance, IT and operational requirements of the business.

When not at work Sharon loves walking her dog, fishing, the theatre, music concerts and weekends away. She is also a very keen runner and part of the Keelys running club and is often seen sporting a Keelys vest at local running events.

Kate joined Keelys in April 2015, coming from international law firm Pinsent Masons where she trained and qualified.  Kate has extensive experience in investment portfolio acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work and ongoing management issues and deals with all aspects of commercial property matters.

In her spare time she likes keeping fit with Zumba and Pilates classes and enjoys spending time in the garden.

Tom joined Keelys as a trainee solicitor in 2005 and joined the Employment Team soon after qualification in 2007.  He was promoted to Associate Partner in 2012 and in 2016, promoted to Partner.

Practice Area

Tom specialises in all aspects of employment law, acting for both employers and employees. For employers, he advises on a full range of employment issues, including disciplinary action, grievances, TUPE, performance issues, sickness absence, redundancies and employment tribunal claims. He acts for a range of clients, from small owner managed businesses to plcs. For employees, Tom advises on unfair dismissal and discrimination, settlement agreements and TUPE claims.


  • Achieved a substantial settlement for an individual in a claim against a Premier League Football Club
  • Advised a Claimant in a complex whistleblowing claim against an international restaurant chain, securing a settlement in excess of a year’s remuneration.
  • Advised on a large scale collective redundancy consultation following the closure of high profile employer


Father to two daughters, lifelong Evertonian, keen follower of the England cricket team, occasional runner and avid collector of vinyl.

Having started her legal career in Local Government specialising in contracts, Siân then went into private practice to train and qualify as a Solicitor. Siân joined Keelys in September 2018 after qualifying and undertakes corporate support work advising on shareholder agreements, group re-organisations, business share sales and purchases and general commercial work including terms and conditions.

In her free time Siân enjoys yoga, baking and photography.

Michael qualified as a solicitor in 1986, and joined Keelys in 1999, having been a partner at Eversheds before then. He gained a first class degree in law at Cambridge. He spent many years with Freshfields, some in Hong Kong. In a legal career spanning over 35 years, he has handled some large and high profile commercial disputes, including large scale banking fraud and cross-border disputes, and has dealt with major public and private institutions. He handles all types of commercial disputes, ranging from debt recovery to more complex contract disputes, employee restrictive covenant and confidentiality disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, warranty disputes under share sale agreements, property disputes and professional negligence claims against solicitors, valuers and accountants. More recently at Keelys, he has successfully managed two cases which have gone to the Court of Appeal involing major commercial enterprises.

Hitesh qualified with the firm in October 2003 and has been a Partner for over eight years. He deals with all aspects of company and commercial law. Hitesh’s work includes private equity transactions, acquisitions and disposals, corporate re-organisations, share option schemes, finance, banking and succession planning. He also undertakes commercial work including supply agreements, distribution agreements, terms and conditions, and outsourcing agreements. Hitesh advises a wide range of owner managed businesses and plc companies.

Paul joined the firm in 2006 as Head of the Employment department. He has over 20 years’ experience of employment law, originally at city law firms.

Paul specialises in all aspects of employment law, acting for both employers and employees. For employers, he advises on a full range of employment issues, including disciplinary action, grievances, TUPE, performance issues, sickness absence, redundancies and employment tribunal claims. He acts for a range of clients, including businesses, churches and charities.  For employees, Paul advises on unfair dismissal and discrimination, settlement agreements and TUPE claims.


  • Successfully defending claims from four employees following a TUPE transfer, including success at the Employment Appeal Tribunal
  • Recovering the maximum compensatory award following the unfair dismissal of a Managing Director
  • Successfully defending a claim for unfair dismissal and disability discrimination against a local school


Paul enjoys cycling, drumming and snowboarding, though not at the same time.

Ravinder joined Keelys as a trainee solicitor in 2001 and qualified into the Employment Team in 2003. She was promoted to Associate Partner in 2008 and in 2011, promoted to Partner.

Ravinder specialises in all aspects of employment law, acting for both employers and employees all over the UK. For employers, she advises on a full range of employment issues, including disciplinary action, grievances, TUPE, performance issues, sickness absence, redundancies, restructuring, employment tribunal claims and drafting of employment documentation including contracts of employment and policies and procedures. She acts for a range of employer clients, of all sizes, on a retainer basis across the UK and offers employment law training. For employees, Ravinder advises on all employment claims including unfair dismissal, discrimination, settlement agreements and Tribunal claims.


  • Successfully advised a Claimant in a claim for unfair dismissal and its appeal in the Court of Appeal.
  • Achieved a substantial settlement in excess of a year’s remuneration for a Claimant involving a large and well recognised employer.
  • Advising a number of employers with an international presence.

Julie Slater-Williams qualified as a Solicitor in 2005. She has specialised in Family Law throughout her career, throughout Staffordshire and Cheshire. In 2015, she joined Keelys LLP. Julie is a member of Resolution. She specialises in divorce, co-habitation, financial settlements, and has a particular focus on Children proceedings, having extensive experience in this area.
