Frank specialises in corporate and commercial law and advises on a wide range of business contracts and transactions for businesses of all sizes.  Frank’s expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, company and business sales, company re-organisations, shareholders agreements, joint ventures, partnership matters, banking and security documents, share option arrangements and Companies Act compliance.

Frank also advises clients on commercial contracts, including, terms and conditions (including website terms), distribution agreements, agency agreements and confidentiality agreements.

Solicitor Residential Conveyancing

Lisa is a Solicitor in the Residential Property team and deals with all aspects of residential property including sales, purchases, leasehold/freehold, right to buy and property transfers. Lisa was a Paralegal for four years before qualifying with a firm in the West Midlands in 2007. Lisa joined Keelys in January 2014 bringing with her a broad range of experience. Lisa lives locally and is looking forward to continuing her career at Keelys and working with clients both locally and further afield.

In her spare time Lisa practices yoga and enjoys travelling.

Partner – Head of Real Estate Department Real Estate

James is a partner in the Real Estate Department and was formerly with international law firm DLA. He joined Keelys in July 2002 and specialises in property development but also undertakes commercial property work of a general nature, including corporate support work.

I enjoy gardening, sailing, caravanning, DIY and I am still learning to play the stupid guitar (9 years after starting). I am a cub scout leader. I am married to Iona and we have four children . We now have an allotment to look after also which saves on gym membership!

Associate Partner Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation

Joanne is an associate partner in the dispute resolution and commercial litigation department at Keelys.

Having trained and qualified at Wragge & Co, she also spent several years at Martineau Johnson, as well as having experience of working as in house Counsel in the finance and leasing industry.

Joanne has extensive experience of all nature of commercial and contractual disputes, having handled minority shareholders’ disputes and overdrawn directors loan account claims. In addition she also handles landlord and tenant cases (both commercial and residential) and trust and contested probate claims. Joanne prides herself on taking a hands on approach to cases and will always take into consideration the commercial issues that arise in any dispute.

When not in the office, Joanne enjoys walking the family dog, reading, history and travel (and if they can all be combined then so much the better).

Partner – Head of Wills, Trusts and Probate Department Wills, Trusts and Probate

Catherine is an experienced Private Client Lawyer and joined Keelys in November 2017 from Shoosmiths in Birmingham. Catherine is a qualified adviser for elderly and vulnerable clients and a member of STEP. Her specialties include Wills, Tax Planning, the Administration of the Estates of High Net Worth individuals, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and the creation and administration of trusts. She has also advised on issues relating to domicile and contentious probates. Catherine has also presented at a number of seminars for both advisors and clients.

Associate Partner Matrimonial & Family

Katherine Haden qualified as a Solicitor in 1997. She worked in Birmingham City Centre for just over 10 years for Challinors and Benussi & Co, a niche specialist firm. In 2007, she joined Keelys LLP as an Associate Partner. Katherine is a Resolution Accredited Specialist. She is a Member of the West Midlands Resolution Committee and also in 2008 became a Collaborative Lawyer. Collaborative lawyers are trained and skilled in helping people to resolve family disputes without going to Court. Katherine specialises in divorce, co-habitation, financial settlements, and Children Act disputes.

Loretta has over 20 years experience in residential conveyancing to include both freehold and leasehold properties, remortgages, transfers of equity, right to buys and equity releases both locally and nationally.

Before joining Keelys Loretta was Office Manager of a dedicated Conveyancing team in Lichfield and she has brought with her a loyal following of contacts.

Loretta is looking forward to continuing her professional and personal service to her existing contacts whilst continuing to grow her client base under the umbrella of Keelys.

Becky Hewitt has 12 years experience in residential conveyancing, specialising in sales and purchases of Freehold and Leasehold properties, together with transfers of equity and remortgage transactions.

Becky is currently studying for her final exam to fully qualify as a Legal Executive.

Becky gains enjoyment from Zumba, spending time with family and friends and has great job satisfaction.

Daniel has 20 years’ experience in advising buyers and sellers of companies and businesses and regularly acts for management buy-out/buy-in teams. He also has signifcant expertise in complex commercial contracts in a wide range of sectors, including IT, distribution and engineering. (Known for his pragmatic and constructive approach to contract negotiations.)

Sharon qualifed with the firm in 1989 and has specialised in property matters and related transactions ever since. Sharon has extensive experience in investment portfolio acquisitions and disposals as well as dealing with the ongoing management issues that arise. She is also part of the firms management team and her responsibilities include finance and IT.

Christen has over 11 years experience in Real Estate transactions. She was formerly at Eversheds and joined Keelys in June 2013. Christen deals with all aspects property work with a specialism in Landlord and Tenant matters.

Prior to having twins Christen enjoyed playing the piano and Ceroc dancing.

Kate joined Keelys in April 2015, coming from international law firm Pinsent Masons where she trained and qualified.  Kate has extensive experience in investment portfolio acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant work and ongoing management issues and deals with all aspects of commercial property matters.

In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit with Zumba and Pilates classes and enjoys spending time in the garden.

Tom is a Solicitor and specialises in employment law, acting for both employers and employees. For employers, he advises on a full range of employment issues, including disciplinary action, grievances, TUPE, performance issues, sickness absence, redundancies and employment tribunal claims. He acts for a range of clients, from small owner managed businesses to plcs. For employees, Tom advises on unfair dismissal and discrimination, settlement agreements and TUPE claims. He appears in the employment tribunal on behalf of both employers and employees and has a very good track record.

Michael is the head of the Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation practice at Keelys. He joined Keelys as a partner in 1999, having been a partner at Eversheds before then. He trained at and spent many years with Freshfields, some of them in their Hong Kong office. During his time with them, he was involved in a number of large and high profile banking fraud and other commercial and cross-border disputes, and dealt with major international public and private institutions. He handles all types of complex commercial disputes, notably contract disputes, restrictive covenants, shareholder and partnership disputes, and professional negligence claims against solicitors, valuers and accountants.

Hitesh qualified with the firm in October 2003 and specialises in all aspects of company and commercial law. His work includes private equity transactions, acquisitions and disposals, a wide range of corporate re-organisations, share option schemes, finance, banking and succession planning. Hitesh also undertakes commercial work including supply agreements, distribution agreements, terms and conditions, and outsourcing agreements. Hitesh advises a wide range of owner managed businesses, from start up’s to well plc companies; and by way of example, Hitesh recently advised on a £105m+ re-financing for one of his client’s.

Paul acts for a wide range of clients including PLCs, two national church denominations and many owner managed businesses. Paul is in demand as a speaker at conferences and has spoken at events organised by the CIPD, the Employment Lawyers’ Association and the Evangelical Alliance.  Paul has also appeared on TV to discuss employment issues.

Ravinder joined Keelys as a trainee solicitor in 2001 and qualified into the Employment Team in 2003. She was promoted to Associate Partner in 2008 and in 2011, promoted to Partner. Ravinder advises both employers and employees all over the UK on all matters concerning employment law and acts for a number of employers of all sizes on a retainer basis. Ravinder advises on all aspects of employment law including unfair dismissal, disciplinary and grievance procedures, redundancy, restructuring, TUPE, discrimination, settlement agreements and Tribunal claims. She also drafts employment documentation including contracts of employment, policies and procedures.

Partner – Head of Family Law Department Matrimonial & Family

Trevor has over 35 years’ experience in Family Law matters and has specialised in Family and Matrimonial matters including divorce, pre-nuptial and co-habitation agreements for most of his legal career. He has particular expertise in complex financial cases and also advises on the financial implications for businesses arising out of matrimonial breakdown.

He is a collaboratively trained lawyer and a resolution accredited specialist member of the Law Society Family Law accreditation scheme.
