Timetable for Employment Law Changes

The government have announced the timetable for future employment law changes. The most significant changes are:

From summer 2013:

  1. Unfair dismissal compensation will be capped at a year’s pay
  2. For the first time, employees will have to pay a fee to bring an employment tribunal claim
  3. Portable online Disclosure and Barring checks will be introduced
  4. From autumn 2013:

  1. TUPE will no longer automatically apply to service provision changes

From spring 2014:

  1. All employees will have the right to request flexible working
  2. Employees will have to submit claims to ACAS, to see whether a settlement can be agreed, before sending them to the employment tribunal
