    • If you are single with children and you own a property – above £500,000

    • If you are married with no children – above £650,000

    • If you are married with children and you own a property – above £1,000,000

    • If widowed with no children – above £650,000

    • If widowed with children and you own a property – above £1,000,000

    • If your estate exceeds £2,350,000 – above £650,000 (above £2,350,000 the additional residence nil rate band is lost)

    The above list is only a guide and there are issues that can affect the likelihood of an estate being taxable.
