National Minimum Wage Increases for 2024

The Government have announced the national minimum wage (“NMW”) increase for 2024 as recommended by the Low Pay Commission: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/largest-ever-cash-increase-to-the-minimum-wage

It is the largest ever increase in cash terms.

The new rates from 1 April 2024 will be:

National Living Wage (from April 2024 age 21 and over, previously 23 and over)£11.44
18-20 year old rate£8.60
16-17 year old rate£6.40
Apprentice rate£6.40

This means someone working 37.5 hours per week, currently earning the national living wage, will increase their annual pay by £1,989.
