Will Writing, Trusts & Probate

Over recent years, Keelys has seen significant growth in both the volume and complexity of the work which we are called upon to undertake in the Will Writing, Trusts & Probate area.

Keelys recognise the importance of sensitivity at times of bereavement and family loss and we will deal with such matters sympathetically and helpfully. However, in addition, we are also able to advise on complex trust and tax planning matters to an exceptional level.

Will Writing – including Inheritance Tax mitigation

Our expert local probate family solicitors will talk you through your options for your Will from start to finish. Tailored to fit your needs, ensuring your loved ones and your wishes are protected. Keelys Solicitors will advise to help you make the right decisions to give you peace of mind. Once your Will is finalised, we can securely store this for you

Trusts – administration, setting up and taxation aspects

For those who are looking to pass on assets whilst they are still alive. Setting up a trust can give you the means to surrender your ownership of your assets but continue to have control of how and where the money is used for the benefit of the beneficiary. Trusts are also created for beneficiaries who are too young or incapacitated to receive assets when they die. Our expert solicitors will guide and help you decide on who you have confidence in to be your trustee/s and help protect your loved ones.

Estates of deceased persons

When a loved one passes away Keelys understand how hard loss is. Dealing with a deceased estate can be emotional and some wish to avoid it. We will handle the entire process on your behalf, including reviewing the Will, handling Inheritance Tax, and distributing inheritance to the Beneficiaries.

Advice to the elderly client – including nursing home issues

If yourself, or an elderly relative living in a care setting wishes to make a complaint or has a grievance, our local friendly team will be on hand to listen and give advice. You may be suspicious a close relative or friend is being abused or neglected but does not have the capacity to inform you. Our team will handle the case with empathy and respect, with the best interests of the person in care at all times.

Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work

Keelys will help and set up an LPA if you or someone close is losing to capacity to make decisions for themselves financially or their health and well-being. For example, onset signs of dementia, a Lasting Power of Attorney will give someone you trust and rely upon the responsibility to make decisions on your behalf.
